There are many solar installers Brisbane installing over 100 solar panels systems on Brisbane roof’s each month. The solar power market is booming with the currently available 44 cents per kilo watt hour feed in tariff and solar bonus scheme on offer. If you are in or around Brisbane, Australia you are looking, currently, at some of best deals for home solar power systems seen in many years and you can actually find a lot of manufacturers and solar installers that can give you the best deals. Of course, in these times when almost everything can be done on the internet, you can also start with your shopping online. You can find great deals on solar cells or solar panels by making a local search online, if you are interested in finding solar panel dealers or installers in Brisbane. You can also visit online directories or local listings. These are often great places to search for solar power businesses online.

Although you can find the best deals on solar panels anywhere in the world and have them shipped to you, you may however need to face the fact that handling and shipping may cause damage to the cells and this is one thing you have to watch out for. If you are in or around Queensland , then you might want to find solar installers near you. You can purchase solar power kits, or you can also choose your own materials to start with your home solar power project. When it comes to harnessing the power of the sun for home use, you will need the right materials to be able to generate this good and free energy from the sun. Firstly, you need to choose solar panels that are suitable for home use. You have to consider efficiency as well as the size of the solar panel you need, initially. You don’t have to power your entire home with solar electricity at once as this may be very expensive, but starting off gradually can be your best option. Remember that solar panels may have slight differences and getting the proper specifications, like efficiency and warranty are some of the main considerations for home solar power systems. There are solar panels that may have different output levels and you have to make sure how much electricity you would want to generate initially and get the correct size inverter to match. In making use of solar power at home, you may want to also consider your water heater. Many households are actually running their water heater with solar energy and that can indeed save a lot of electricity cost. Little by little, you can also add in some other appliances and make them run with the power of the sun.

Solar power installation companies in Brisbane report that their clients are discussing sustainable energy sources and one thing that homeowners and governments are looking for these days is ‘clean energy’ as the problem of global warming, climate change and depleting energy sources are among the most pressing problems faced by the world today. For homeowners who want to take part in the global campaign of finding sustainable energy sources and address global pollution and global warming, you may want to venture into home solar power systems as a means to make a shift to sustainable energy sources.Solar power is renewable. As long as the sun is there, you have an enormous source of energy that is not likely to become scarce! Using the sun’s energy for electricity means less emission of harmful greenhouse gases that can further bring harm to the environment. Aside from being a free resource, it is also something that homeowners can take advantage of for a very, very long time. Indeed, solar power is something that is sustainable and can benefit not only the next generation but many, many more generations in the future.

DIY Solar Power has now become a reality, all across the internet guides are springing up promoting DIY solar power solutions and the benefits you can reap from making your own solar panels, but the question needs to be raised, can you really build your own solar panels?

To answer this question I thought it would be a good idea to share my own personal experiences in building my own DIY solar power system.

I first got interested in solar as an alternative energy form when I started to look closer at not only the cost of my households energy consumption but also the impact traditional energy sources are having on the environment.

Being a cleaner, renewable and free form of energy I settled on solar as my alternative energy. I did a search on the internet found a local installer and gave their phone number a call, what happened next shocked me, the cost of having a system installed was just under $ 9,000! this just wasn’t an option, it would take years to recoup the cost of installation with the savings made from using solar. I decided to dig a little deeper and being a handyman type of guy started looking for a do it yourself (DIY) solution.

I ended up purchasing a how to build solar panels guide for just under $ 50 and set about following the instructions laid out within. Day one had me taking a trip to my hardware store and purchasing specified materials, this cost me around $ 200, day two had me hard at work putting together the panels, on day 3 I placed the panels in a good position, wired them to some batteries and there you have it in 3 days I was up and running with my first homemade solar panel.

Take it from me, If I can build my own solar panel anyone can, just make sure you get a good “how to build a solar panel” guide that illustrates very clearly what materials you need to assemble and the steps you need to take to build, you will have a lot of fun building you own DIY solar power panels as wells enjoy the financial savings you will reap.

Article by Floyd P. Dietz

Starting off with some numbers, the average US household uses about 10,000 kWh of electricity annually. This could be improved from a home improvement standpoint with better windows, better appliances, and better insulation. These cost saving improvements alone would save hundreds of dollars a year. Replacing incandescent light bulbs with fluorescent ones is another cost saving opportunity that many people are using (and it is a fairly cheap upgrade now as well).

Little things such as turning the TV off at night and turning lights off when you aren’t using them can also have an impact. However, the only way to finally break your ties to the power grid is through residential solar power. While costly at first, rest assured that the savings will quickly add up.

Finding the Right Size

There are a variety of residential solar power systems available for residential use. They range, for residential purposes, from 1,000 to 25,000 watt systems, rated for 50 to 1600 square feet homes. Over 25 years, a 10,000 watt system will save a homeowner nearly $ 50,000 while using 10,000 kWh a year. The savings scale with the size of the system and household energy consumption, so your own savings might be larger or smaller with residential solar power.

Many people choose to supplement rather than replace their reliance on the power grid with residential solar power as solar power systems powerful enough to supply enough electricity for the average home are still a little expensive. $ 75,000 is a bit much for the average homeowner to get off the grid, even though those savings will help the system pay for itself in a decade or so.

However, you also need to take into account the tax credits that can be applied at both the state and federal level. For a variety of home improvements that make your house green, you can get valuable tax credits. That $ 75,000 solar power system listed above could get nearly a $ 35,000 tax credit, effectively lowering its cost to $ 40,000. Tax credits greatly decrease the cost of residential solar power, spurring the market with monetary incentives.

As our cars make the transition from gasoline engines to electric motors, our power grid will be taxed even further. By beginning to upgrade our power grid with smart technologies and making our homes energy independent with residential solar power, we can ensure the safety of our energy grid for years to come, all while saving ourselves money and protecting the environment.

One could say that the world is currently not doing well in terms of the economy. The recent recession, high unemployment rates, businesses closing, and the increased prices of basic goods in the market are all evidence of the current worldwide economic crisis. These days a dollar is considered a blessing as the earning money these days is no longer easy. Each household has a monthly obligation to meet such as water and electricity charges, tuition fees for kids, food and so many others which requires at least a thousand dollars every month. Being able to save a hundred dollars a month will make every household happy and one way to achieve this is using home solar power system in our homes rather than the conventional electricity that most households are currently using.

The electricity we are using is taken from other sources and somehow these sources contribute to the depletion of the earth’s resources. The sun is a good source of electricity. It is considered a green energy, renewable, does not pollute the environment and totally free.

Home solar power is a good alternative to using conventional electricity. A lot of people think that having a home solar power system installed in their homes would mean spending thousands of dollars. This thought alone discouraged a lot of people to go for home solar power. However, this case may no longer be true these days. Now, households can make use of home solar power for only a few hundred dollars. How is this possible? Thanks to advanced technology, you can now make your very own solar panels. The number of panels you need is dependent on your electricity consumption. This means that if you have more appliances running in your home, then you would need more solar panels to keep up with your electrical usage. For some, they build more panels to generate more electricity and store them in special battery storage so that it can be used during evenings or rainy and gloomy days.

Sounds laborious, don’t you think? However, consider the huge amount of savings you can get if you build your own home solar power system. You could save up of up to more than 80% of your monthly electric bill. Also, building your own home solar panels doesn’t have to be complicated. If you take the time to browse the internet, you will find out that there are actually a lot of do-it-yourself home solar power systems which are easy to follow and very affordable. Buying a ready-made home solar power from companies and having it installed by a professional will cost you between $ 7,000 to $ 15,000 dollars, unlike building your own solar panel for less that $ 200 only. If you are worried about the raw materials you need, then don’t fret as it is very easy to find and are available in your local hardware stores. As for the manual, you can get a lot of it online just make sure that the steps are very easy to understand. A video with step-by-step instructions is much advisable especially for beginners. So think smart, build your own home solar power and experience its benefits!

These are my top three reasons why you should not make your own solar power installation. This is supposed to give you some objective information to inform you of why a solar panel installation is not necessarily a good thing. So here are the facts:

Reason 1: A solar power installation costs a lot and only pays for itself after a long time

If you are going to purchase a solar panel installation, you are looking to spend upwards to tens of thousands of dollars. Even with the best sun exposure and if you were selling the electricity to your power company, it will take you tens of years to repay your investment.

Many people get attracted to the idea of getting a free source of electricity, which would even provide them with electricity to sell. They, however, remain ignorant of the investment, which would be required to make this possible. Even worse, sometimes they just purchase the solar power system thinking that it would repay itself quickly and only then find out that it could take up to 20-30 years. This is definitely a trap you would like to stay out of.

Reason 2: The efficiency of your solar power installation is highly dependent on your solar exposure

This reason is kind of obvious, but let us look deeper into it. Before you purchase your solar system you are supposed to look at the potential for making solar power in your area. This depends on the amount of sun exposure you get there. So let us say you get a high amount of solar exposure. What could go wrong then?

Well, let us just say that solar exposure is a variable. In other words, when talking about a long-term investment, which a solar power system is, you could imagine how a variable such as solar exposure could change. Natural conditions have shown the potential to change, so it would not be unimaginable to have a previously very sunny area gradually start getting less solar exposure. This, in turn, could make a profitable solar power system rather unprofitable.

Reason 3: The efficiency of your solar power system is also dependent on the surroundings

This last reason might sound negligible, but in fact it is the biggest possible turn-off. Two major things pop up in mind in this regard. They are pollution and surrounding buildings.

First, pollution has the potential to shorten the life of your solar panels as if you live in an area with high levels of pollution, your system’s life will be adversely affected. Second, a solar power system project, once again, is a project done with a long-term perspective. We already said that we could not predict solar exposure for the long term. Even more, we can not predict that your building would not be surrounded by taller buildings, which would reduce your solar exposure.

These were the top three reasons why solar power systems are not a good choice. Now that you think about it, you might not want to make a solar power installation anymore. But do not despair. The purpose of this article is not to discourage you from making your solar power system. Exactly the opposite – solar power systems are great and if built with consideration and in a cost-efficient manner, they could bring a good return on investment.

This article discusses the three reasons that solar power systems are not a good option to consider. Read this article to find out what you should be aware of when considering a solar power installation. You definitely need to know these things and at the end, it is your choice whether to go solar or not.

Is it possible to lower your electricity bill and help the global environment at the same time?

Yes it is, and it’s easier than most people think. Simply by using solar panels you will save money on electricity that you would otherwise have to pay for and there really isn’t any other source of energy that’s as clean and pure as the sun itself. Lately the usage of solar power panels for home has only gone up and there is a reason why people haven’t bothered with solar power that much in the past. Buying a solar panel from a manufacturer and installing it costs thousands of dollars and it would take many years before you would see any return on investment. Since costs can range between 10.000$ to 100.000$ it can take up to 10 years before the investment would start paying off. However, this is the past. Why go solar?

Solar power panel systems produce electricity with no carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions AT ALL. With the global warming constantly rising and becoming more of a threat each day, people are finally realizing they have to take independent action. Installing solar panels is the easiest, most convenient and useful way to help our planet.Save money. Many households pay hundreds of dollars each month powering their home. Once you have installed a solar panel you are immediately beginning to save money by harvesting FREE energy from the sun.

There are basically 3 ways to go solar today:

Switch your electricity provider You can pick a energy company that harvests energy from renewable sources. It will cost more compared to other companies, so basically you would help the planet but hurt your economy. And don’t expect to find a company that only harvests green energy, because there is none. In best case only a small fraction of the energy created by your supplier is from the sun or other renewable sources. Purchase readymade solar panel solutions Turn to a company that sells and installs renewable energy solutions for households, e.g. solar power panels for home. This is a very expensive investment and most people simply don’t have the money for it. Prices range between 10.000$ and 100.000$ . And even If they do, they can still resort to a better option and save some serious money. Do it yourself There’s a saying that if you want something done properly then you have to do it yourself. The easiest and most efficient way of switching to green energy is to build your own solar power panels for home. It’s now possible for anyone to build their own solar panel from scratch without the need of any special skills or knowledge on the matter. All of the components required to build a solar panel are available in local hardware stores, and the best part is that all of the materials can be acquired for under 200$ and you can have your panel up and running the very same day. It’s even possible to get all the required materials for around a 100$ if you put some extra time on finding the best dealers. How to do it yourself First you need a highly detailed yet easy to follow step-by-step guide. There are many of these available online for anyone to purchase for a small sum. However, a proper one should include pictures and videos to make it easy to follow, give instructions on how to calculate how many panels you need and how much money you can save. Head over to green-energy-information.info for more information.

DIY solar power kits are available that cater to consumers and homeowners who wish to try installing their own solar electricity systems. This is an attractive option for people who want to try offsetting their power consumption with off-grid production through solar panels. The use of a solar power system can produce enough electricity, theoretically, to make a home independent from the power grid, but in practice this is difficult and costly to achieve. Many people settle for drawing only a part of their power from their solar installations, and remaining connected to the conventional power grid. However, in the possibility that the solar power installation produces more power than the household uses, it is possible to turn back the meter, in effect selling electricity back to the utility!

Now, DIY solar power kits are popular for a variety of reasons. One of these is that they are usually much cheaper than prepackaged components. This is due, of course, to the fact that buyers would need to provide their own labor and expertise in putting together the various parts included in the kit. The quality of the components included in kits will vary in proportion to their cost. Kits that sell for a couple of hundred dollars would obviously only be able to generate small amounts of electricity from sunlight, while more expensive kits can be more ambitious. In general, however, even with this variation, DIY kits are much cheaper than premade setups.

Another reason that these kits are so popular is the fact that they give users a greater degree of control over the electrical system. Many do-it-yourselfers prize this flexibility and control over what they build, and in this case, it means that the DIY solar power kits can be used in a wider variety of situations. Making the most efficient use of solar panels and other components requires adapting to the conditions and circumstances of the installation locations, and these kits allow for almost full versatility. Unlike prepackaged models that may not work optimally in all locations, component kits can be put together and modified accordingly.

Of course, making use of these kits requires some degree of know-how in putting not only electrical systems but also some carpentry knowledge. Mounting the panels and then wiring the system is no easy task, but is ultimately very rewarding and worthwhile. Homeowners with the proper skills should really look into getting themselves a good start with solar energy using one of the many DIY solar power kits.

S Singh has written extensively about the renewable energy such as the diy wind turbine and how to build your own solar panel.

The need for alternative sources of energy is increasingly more pressing daily. Cost and gives of conventional fuel have gone beyond whack plus the effect with their wastes and emission within the environment going from bad to worse. In case at one time for alternative solutions for power, might be it! Actually, neat and alternative energy sources have been available for many years: hydro, wind and solar powered energy.

Every one of these sources has its strengths and setbacks. Bewteen barefoot and shoes, solar panel technology is considered the most designed for the household. Once installed, solar powered energy systems are practically maintenance free. The typical lifespan of solar panel systems is more than 30 years and they also come in all designs, blending effectively into all types of buildings both aesthetically and functionally. Obviously, it’s emission free, silent and operates on sunlight for fuel and sunlight alone.

Solar energy is increasingly making a positive change on the community on several fronts but residential solar panel technology users are where they have gained the best penetration. These people are more often than not forced in to the situation through the cost and emission concerns linked to non-renewable energy. Technology-based lifestyle also do not want to continue being at the mercy of power outages and residential solar panel technology provides exactly the answer.

There are a selection of methods to work with solar power and residential solar powered energy generators are the most popular means. The thought is straightforward and powerful. Sunlight energy is merely harnessed through solar power panels and changed to electricity by way of the circuitry inside the power generators.
